As director of product development, Michael works to evaluate each investment opportunity. Prior to RENEW, he worked on economic development policy, with a special focus on Africa and post-conflict states, for the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC). In that role, he worked with numerous investors in Africa to develop successful investment strategies. He visited more than a dozen projects throughout Africa to meet with management, monitor compliance with investment regulations and evaluate business sustainability in local economic conditions. Michael has traveled extensively in Africa in support of projects and their investors, and as a diplomat participated in negotiations with African heads of state and ministries to reduce political risks and ensure the success of supported investments.
